Performance and Reuse of Steel Shot in Abrasive Waterjet Cutting of Granite

Abstract Steel shots are suitable for abrasive waterjet rock cutting and recycling because of the high hardness magnetic properties steel. This study evaluated rock-cutting performance characteristics steel shot waterjet. The responses garnet were compared at same conditions. used was collected particle-size changes before reuse, its re-evaluated. Overall, yielded improvements in range 30–50% with Moreover, recycled a 50% reduction performance. Rust observed on surface shot, partially destroyed, debris needed to be removed by drying. reusable left 80th sieve converged 60% each run. results this can reduce cost industrial waste.
